Opportunity to Support OB Elementary

Opportunity to Support OB Elementary

Ocean Beach Elementary School's PTA sent us the following information about a great opportunity for local businesses to support their upcoming event:

Dear Potential Corporate Donor,

The Ocean Beach Elementary PTA is hosting our annual jog-a-thon for the 2017/18 school year on January 19th, 2018.  This event serves as the primary fundraiser for our arts program in the children’s education.

Each year we rely on grants, fundraisers and parent donations to cover our grade level academic arts program. Fortunately, the grant we receive every year from Arts For Learning has increased from $12,000 to $18,000.  In order to receive this grant, the PTA must match this amount.  So this year we must raise $6,000 more than last year.  Normally we solely rely on the parents for donations to the jog-a-thon. We are hoping, this year, that community-centered businesses like yours will help support a class, a grade, or the school by making a donation. Your business donation will bring us closer to matching the grant. All proceeds raised from the event will go directly toward Ocean Beach Elementary's award winning arts program. With thanks, your business will be highlighted to all event attendees as a valued contributor!

To make your tax-deductible donation, please email or call me . We will gladly come to pick up your donation and any literature you’d like us to share at the event. Our Tax ID number is 03-046-2303 for your tax-deductible donation toward this event.

Thank you for being a part of making our community stronger for generations to come!

With gratitude,

Andrea Vasquez-Villalobos

SDG&E: Electric Vehicle Day is Sept. 9 at Qualcomm Stadium

SDG&E: Electric Vehicle Day is Sept. 9 at Qualcomm Stadium

The Chargers may have left Qualcomm Stadium, but a new offense in the war on air emissions will take the field at Electric Vehicle (EV) Day on Sept. 9.
EV Day is the largest test drive event in San Diego. Once you take a spin, you’ll understand why EVs are growing in popularity, and why you need the chargers to support them on your properties.
Team SDG&E will be there to help you get started. We are installing 3,500 EV chargers at San Diego apartments, condos and businesses through our Power Your Drive initiative, and your property could be one of them. EV chargers will:

  • Attract high quality tenants
  • Reduce your facility’s carbon footprint
  • Require no maintenance on your part

Sign up on our interest list and visit sdge.com/PowerYourDrive to learn how we can help upgrade your properties with EV chargers at little or no cost to you. For more about EV Day, visit sdge.com/EVday. And don’t worry, San Diego: the SDG&E chargers are here to stay.

SDG&E: Switch to renewable energy

SDG&E: Switch to renewable energy

SDG&E’s EcoChoice program gives you the option to purchase up to 100% clean, renewable energy. For those who lease or don’t have the ability, either financially or structurally to adopt solar, the program might be a good option. You pay a small premium every month depending on your subscription amount and monthly electric use. SDG&E then purchases renewable energy on your behalf. You’ll be directly contributing to the expansion of renewables in our region. Learn more at sdge.com/EcoChoice.

Prevent the Spread of Hepatitis A

As you have likely heard, San Diego County is experiencing a hepatitis A outbreak. This disease is transmitted primarily via fecal matter. In light of the outbreak, our Maintenance Assessment District contractor is following the newly established City of San Diego protocols in cleaning all bodily fluids on the street in the MAD. In addition to the steps we are taking, we encourage all businesses with storefronts and public areas to disinfect any exterior surfaces that people can touch (such as railings, doorknobs, etc.) each day with a disinfectant solution appropriate to the surface you are cleaning. This means a bleach solution or disinfectant wipe. Please do this every day to help prevent the spread of the hepatitis A virus and other diseases.

For more information on the City of San Diego's efforts to combat the outbreak, see their press release here.

Restaurants: Enhance Your Customer Experience and Save Money at the Same Time

Your restaurant is known for quality food and service, so why are you settling for outdated, costly kitchen equipment? Now is the time to make an investment in your back of house operations that will pay for itself in a matter of months.
SDG&E offers rebates on new foodservice equipment such as ice machines, convection ovens and griddles. And from August 23 – November 10, 2017 – these rebate amounts are increasing! Act now before your equipment goes on the fritz.

SDG&E offers financing with ZERO percent interest to help you replace inefficient and worn-out equipment. Loan minimums are $5,000 per meter and payments are conveniently made through your energy bill. On-Bill Financing can help you finance your new purchase at just 0 percent. Learn more at sdge.com/obf.
Foodservice facilities are highly energy-intensive, using about 5 to 7 times more energy per square foot than other commercial buildings, such as office buildings and retail stores. The largest portion of energy use in foodservice is consumed by cooking and food preparation, followed closely by heating, ventilation, and cooling.
