Annual OB Events
The Ocean Beach Oktoberfest – the uniquely Southern California salute to the celebration of German culture and fun. Mark your calendar for the 2018 OB Oktoberfest on Friday, October 12, and Saturday, October 13!
Every Wednesday 4-8pm on the 4900 block of Newport Ave. between Cable and Bacon Streets in Ocean Beach. Don't miss your opportunity to purchase the freshest and most delicious locally grown produce, art, flowers, and more!
OBTC & OBMA welcome you to join the foodie event of the year for Ocean Beach – the annual Restaurant Walk on the second Tuesday of November! We typically have over 40 restaurants and local businesses participating. This is a great way to discover places in OB you may have never seen and to visit the places you already know and love. Proceeds support the OB Food and Toy Drive, which provides assistance to over 80 local families and seniors in need during the holidays. Learn more about the OB Food and Toy Drive.
The events they sponsor throughout the year are all fundraisers for the OB Tree Committee. The OB Tree Committee sponsors the OB Food and Toy Drive that sponsors over 100 local families and seniors in need each year during the holiday season. The group assembles care packages and new gifts and toys for those in need of help during the holidays.
Celebrate the fourth of July in Ocean Beach with a spectacular fireworks display off the OB Pier in San Diego, California! Celebrate the official start of summer in Southern California by spending the day enjoying the many shops, restaurants and coffee shops in Downtown Ocean Beach.
The 40th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-off Festival offered eclectic fun in the sun for all ages. More than 70,000 visitors throughout the day enjoyed tasty festival nosh, art, beachfront entertainment, shopping, and more.
Join the Kiwanis for the Annual OB Kite Festival at Robb Field (new location for 2018). Prizes for best decorated kites, by age category. Spectacular kite flying demonstrations throughout the day. Carnival rides and a craft fair are also part of the event. This free family event is the oldest children’s kite festival in the United States, now celebrating its 7th decade. This is a third-generation event; people who attended as children are now bringing their children and grandchildren. Youngsters are taught how to make kites; all materials are supplied. There are prizes for the best decorated kites. Any handmade kite can be submitted, not just kites made at the Festival. Entertainment and lunch are provided. Adding to the fun, families can go on carnival rides or browse for unique handicrafts at the craft fair.
