Events (Ocean Beach San Diego)
Join us in 2022 for the OB Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off.
Mark your calendars – Shop Small Ocean Beach falls on November 28, 2020. Although the holidays will look a little different this year, Ocean Beach will be decked out with holiday cheer including bright & colorful holiday banners and lamp posts adorned with garland and bows. Shop Small this season while you enjoy the eclectic beach community of OB. Friendly reminder to mask up and only spread holiday cheer this season.
Every Wednesday 4-8pm on the 4900 block of Newport Ave. between Cable and Bacon Streets in Ocean Beach. The Ocean Beach Farmers Market will look a bit different. Think of it as a fresh-air grocery store with a focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, spreads, baked goods, honey, kombucha, flowers and more! There will be a handful of artisan food vendors who will provide to-go food, which you may take home to enjoy.
Monday - Thursday, November 9th - 12th, 2020 from 5:00pm-9:00pm. Proceeds directly support the OB Food and Toy Drive, which provides support to local families and seniors in need during the holidays. Details coming soon!
The events they sponsor throughout the year are all fundraisers for the OB Tree Committee. The OB Tree Committee sponsors the OB Food and Toy Drive that sponsors over 100 local families and seniors in need each year during the holiday season. The group assembles care packages and new gifts and toys for those in need of help during the holidays.
Postponed Until June 2022 - The 42nd Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-off Festival offered eclectic fun in the sun for all ages. More than 70,000 visitors throughout the day enjoyed tasty festival nosh, art, beachfront entertainment, shopping, and more.
Join the Kiwanis for the Annual OB Kite Festival at Robb Field - May 9, 2020 10 am to 4 pm. Prizes for best decorated kites, by age category. Spectacular kite flying demonstrations throughout the day. Carnival rides and a craft fair are also part of the event. This free family event is the oldest children’s kite festival in the United States, now celebrating its 7th decade. This is a third-generation event; people who attended as children are now bringing their children and grandchildren. Youngsters are taught how to make kites; all materials are supplied. There are prizes for the best decorated kites. Any handmade kite can be submitted, not just kites made at the Festival. Entertainment and lunch are provided. Adding to the fun, families can go on carnival rides or browse for unique handicrafts at the craft fair.
