A message from The County of San Diego Hello OBMA Members We would like to direct your attention to the County of San Diego's recently launched Small Business Stimulus Grant Program and encourage you to share with your members and networks. According to the County News Center, For-profit and nonprofit businesses can apply for grant money if they can show losses and costs are a direct result of the pandemic. To qualify businesses must have: 100 or fewer employees Headquarters in San Diego County A minimum 1-year operating history as of Feb. 14, 2020 Documentation of financial hardship because of COVID-19
County of San Diego - Updated Safe Re-Opening Plan effective July 7, 2020
Hello OBMA Members Most of you are aware of the changes implemented by the County of San Diego beginning tomorrow, July 7th. Below is a message from the County of San Diego, along with a link to the updated Safe Re-Opening plan. In general, the County will follow the state's Resilience Roadmap. Because of the recent rise in community spread of COVID-19, the state placed San Diego County on a Monitoring List. After three days on the list, the following businesses need to close unless they can operate outdoors. The closures go into effect in San Diego July 7 and will last at least three weeks.

Hello OBMA Members let's try this again!!!
We are re-opening the Ocean Beach Farmers Market on June 10th, in a modified fashion, per County Health guidelines. The modified, farm-focused market will look a little bit different, but it will still have the same wonderful community feel. Think of it as a fresh-air grocery store with a focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, honey, spreads and more along with fresh flowers. There will be a handful of artisan food vendors who will provide to-go food, which the community may take home to enjoy. A few details:

OBMA Members Phase 2+ Granted Restaurants Can Open!
The state department of health gave San Diego County the go ahead Wednesday to allow restaurants to open for dine-in service beginning today, May 21, 2020. A message from the Department of Environmental Health Dear Food Facility Operators, On the evening of May 20, 2020, the Governor approved the County of San Diego’s request to proceed with modified onsite dining throughout the San Diego region.

The California Department of Public Health has provided restaurants with their expectations for opening dine-in service in California. The county of San Diego is expected to provide restaurants with next steps and the green light to provide dine-in service very soon. This checklist is intended to help dine-in restaurant employers implement their plan to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace and is supplemental to the Guidance for Dine-in Restaurants. This checklist is a summary and contains shorthand for some parts of the guidance; familiarize yourself with the guidance before using this checklist.
Retail Businesses-Safe Reopening Plan for Curbside & Delivery
The state has provided guidance for Retail Establishments to open for curbside and delivery only. A friendly reminder from SDPD that all retail businesses must adhere to the safe reopening plan put in place by the Governor and County of San Diego. Although the rules can be confusing, if each business lives by the rules our community can continue to move forward. SDPD has asked the OBMA to remind you NO WALK IN TRAFFIC is permitted in businesses at this time. A $1K fine will be issued to any business in violation. Don't shoot the messenger! REQUESTING SMALL BUSINESS SUPPORT FROM THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO
Please help us reach out to the City Council and Mayor in support of small businesses as they start their budget hearings. Copy and paste the email addresses into a new email. Copy and paste the short letter into that email making sure you fill in the sections that are bold and in brackets with your own information. Be sure to use the Subject line: Requesting Small Business Support. Instructions: Simply customize the sections [bold, in brackets] and send to the email addresses below blue. Of course you can add or edit the letter or email distribution list as you’d like. Quantity matters! The more letter that are sent to elected officials the more powerful our collective voice.
