Update regarding Enforcing Restaurant Restrictions
The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association, along with other Business Improvement Districts in San Diego County are awaiting clarification on exactly what the ruling by Superior Court Judge Joel Wohlfeil means for restaurants and live entertainment establishments. We will send out updates as they become available.
How to Use the EDD Workshare Program to Retain Employees!
General EDD Workshare Program highlights: The EDD Workshare Program is a win-win for both employer and employee. This plan for Workshare through EDD is a worthwhile program for our local merchants. It allows the business to keep valued employees even if they have to reduce their hours by 10 to 60%. With the workshare program, the employer has a way to reduce payroll expenses while giving the employee a job that also allows them to collect a portion of unemployment benefits to supplement their reduced income.

County Stimulus Funding
How To Apply For Small Business Grant Hello, Thank you for applying for the County’s Small Business Stimulus Grant Program. We know that the County being placed in the purple tier creates hardships for our small business community. As a result, Supervisor Fletcher has secured an additional $20M in funding, which includes $4M designated to businesses in County Supervisorial District 4. The funds are only eligible for the following business types:

This grant program is for those merchants already linked to eBay. Some of you may want to consider selling on eBay. The deadline is December 11.

Environmental Health Update
Dear Permittees, The County of San Diego Public Health Officer announced on November 10, 2020, that the County’s adjusted case rate rose above 7.0 cases per 100,000 for a second week, keeping the region in the state’s most restrictive COVID-19 level, Purple Tier, or Tier 1. Effective Midnight, Friday, November 13, 2020, under Tier 1, restaurants, gyms, churches, theaters, and other locations are to discontinue indoor operations. As a result, indoor dining is prohibited. Outdoor dining, drive-thru, take out and to-go service operations are allowed and can continue operating.

Extended - Permit Renewal Fee Deferment and Food Facility Plan Check Fee Waivers - County of SD
Dear FHD Operators and Stakeholders, On October 27, 2020, the County Board of Supervisors approved to continue to defer permit fees due dates through March 31, 2021 and Plan Check fee waivers for the initial submittal of new construction and remodeled food facility projects until the appropriated funds have been expended.
