New small business grant from Main Street America

Hello OBMA Members! New small business grant from Main Street America. This will be available January 21st. We have quite a few businesses that could apply for it. Businesses need to read through all the information to determine eligibility, then gather all the information so they will be ready to apply on the 21st. Planning ahead is a great idea. Power Washing 5000 Block Newport Avenue

The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association has scheduled EcoClean to power wash the 5000 Block of Newport Avenue in the early morning on Monday, January 11th and Tuesday, January 12th. $500 Million Small Business Grants Available!

State of California COVID-19 Small Business Grant Webinars The State of California announced a $500 million grant fund to support small businesses. Businesses can now get their applications prepared for when the first round opens on December 30. Lendistry was selected as the administrator of the grant. How to Use the EDD Workshare Program to Retain Employees!

General EDD Workshare Program highlights: The EDD Workshare Program is a win-win for both employer and employee. This plan for Workshare through EDD is a worthwhile program for our local merchants. It allows the business to keep valued employees even if they have to reduce their hours by 10 to 60%. With the workshare program, the employer has a way to reduce payroll expenses while giving the employee a job that also allows them to collect a portion of unemployment benefits to supplement their reduced income.

OBMA Members, It's that time of year again! The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association Annual Awards nominates OBMA members who exemplified the Ocean Beach spirit throughout the past year. Just like everything in 2020 the Annual Awards Celebration will look different too, but we will make Lemonade out of Lemons and recognize some of our amazing merchants through a virtual celebration on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Update regarding Enforcing Restaurant Restrictions

The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association, along with other Business Improvement Districts in San Diego County are awaiting clarification on exactly what the ruling by Superior Court Judge Joel Wohlfeil means for restaurants and live entertainment establishments. We will send out updates as they become available.

The OBMA is joining the Little Italy Association in an attempt to present a COVID County resolution and its supporters to Supervisor Fletcher and the rest of the Board of Supervisors by Monday afternoon. How To Apply For Small Business Grant Hello, Thank you for applying for the County’s Small Business Stimulus Grant Program. We know that the County being placed in the purple tier creates hardships for our small business community. As a result, Supervisor Fletcher has secured an additional $20M in funding, which includes $4M designated to businesses in County Supervisorial District 4. The funds are only eligible for the following business types:
