Downtown Ocean Beach Ambassador Program
Downtown Ocean Beach Ambassador Program JOIN US SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2023 Stop by the Information Booth at Veterans Plaza Park or say hello to strolling Ambassadors in the downtown business district on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Look for Ambassadors wearing bright yellow vests who will welcome visitors and locals to downtown Ocean Beach and provide visitors with information to help them explore the area and enhance their experience while visiting our eclectic town. The program operates each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Festival offers attendees eclectic fun in the sun for all ages. Tens of thousands of visitors will attend the Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, for tasty festival nosh, art, beachfront entertainment, shopping, and more. Community Partner News Dear Community partners and friends, The Ocean Beach Woman’s Club is dedicated to supporting the community through civic, social, and educational development. We connect local women with one another through fun and philanthropy. Among the many ways we accomplish our mission is by providing affordable event space, and one of the few community gardens in Ocean Beach and the greater peninsula area.
Exciting News from LUMINOSITY FESTIVAL OF LIGHT
Dear OBMA Member, For close to 40 years, the proud tradition of Fourth of July fireworks off of the Ocean Beach Fishing Pier drew tens of thousands of spectators every Independence Day. Because of structural issues with the pier, the fireworks celebration ended in 2018. A change was needed. Many long-time community organizers have banded together to reimagine the Fourth of July with an innovative drone light show and festival of light. We have already contracted with an internationally known drone company, Skyworx, to bring a drone light show to the shores of Ocean Beach.
OBMA Sidewalk Beautification Initiative begins Monday, April 17th
Dear OBMA Member, The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association’s Board of Directors has allocated seed funding for a Sidewalk Beautification Initiative. This initiative will begin in mid-April 2023 and continue for six months. EcoClean services will be powering-washing and sanitizing either the north or south side of Newport Avenue weekly as part of the Sidewalk Beautification Initiative. We’re thrilled to be able to provide this initiative with funds raised through events managed by the OBMA. With community and member support we hope to continue to allocate funding towards this initiative after the six-month seed funding timeline.

City Seeking Public Input Regarding Ocean Beach Pier Renewal Project SAN DIEGANS INVITED TO COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT POTENTIAL LONG-TERM PLANS FOR THE PIER SAN DIEGO – The City of San Diego is hosting a series of upcoming community workshops to share information about the Ocean Beach Pier Renewal project and gather input from community members. This project aims to provide a long-term solution for the 56-year-old pier through a potential replacement.
