The Ocean Beach Municipal Pier, one of the most visited landmarks in San Diego County, was officially christened and introduced to eager San Diegans on July 2, 1966. Currently as of May 6th the OB pier is currently closed for repairs.

If you are interested in running for a board position with the OB MainStreet Association, please review the following information.

The requirements necessary to run are:

• Must be an OBMA member in good standing.
• Must have served on one of OBMA's committees for at least one year.
• Will have time to devote to monthly board meetings, committees and special events.

Election ballots go out on June 28, 2021, and must be returned to our office no later than 5pm Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

Intent to Run Form

We are all saddened to announce the passing of Dave Martin, long time business owner in Ocean Beach and member of the OB MainStreet Association Board of Directors since 2007. Dave will be greatly missed. He was a thoughtful and outspoken volunteer for our organization and also for so many other local organizations. His generosity of time, expertise, and energy was legendary.  He was almost always the calmest person in the room which is a great asset on a Board of Directors.

His loving family sent us the following announcement. We’re going to be collecting remembrances of Dave from people who cared so much for him and then giving those stories to his family.
His big wish was for the newly designed OB Veterans Plaza to be funded and completed. If you wish to make a donation, please click here.
