Main Lifeguard Station
Situated in a split residential and commercial neighborhood and only a block north of the ever popular Newport Avenue is the Santa Monica Avenue Beach. The Santa Monica Avenue Beach is located right on the line between the surfer-only area and the swimming only area of this stretch of beach. This is a popular beach among visitors because of the ammenities that it has to offer.
Newport Ave. - Pier Parking
Newport Avenue Beach is perhaps the most popular beach in Ocean Beach for surfers and people just enjoying the sights or hanging out. While there is a parking lot available for beachgoers it is often full and parking can be somewhat problematic. This beach is particularly popular amongst photographers’ as there is a wide variety of objects to shoot. This beach also offers the only surfer’s only area around. Hundreds of surfers flock to this beach on a daily basis at their chance to catch the next “big one”.
Wonderland - Paid Parking
Along Abbott Ave. between Santa Monica Ave. and Newport Ave. in the alley beneath Wonderland. When both the pier and main life guard tower parking lots are full this is the closest alternative. The underground parking offers shade and a cool vehicle to come back to after a bright day of sunshine!
Dog Beach - Public Parking

4994 Newport Ave. next to Krisp Market and across the alley from the Santa Monica parking lot behind the AZ and 360 Gym.
Paid Parking - Santa Monica and Bacon
This large parking lot on Santa Monica Ave. near Bacon St offers paid public parking and is just one block from the beach and across the street from Pizza Port.
1858 Cable Street - Paid Parking
Just a half block from Newport avenue and three blocks away from the OB Pier this paid parking lot is large and offers plenty of spaces.
Rite Aid - Paid Parking
Set back along Sunset Cliffs and just half a block from Newport Avenue. Around the corner is Culture Brewery Co. Take a walk down Newport Ave. you never know what you'll find. It's about four blocks to the beach from this lot.
CVS - Paid Parking
One block over from Newport Avenue on Santa Monica Ave. is CVS which has a large paid parking lot. The beach is just two blocks away. Great place to park on Farmer's Market Wednesdays.
Sunset Cliffs & Newport Avenue
If you've arrived like most you came into town along Sunset Cliffs Blivd. which intersects with Newport Avenue the heart of Ocean Beach's business district. The beach is four blocks down from this parking lot.
