OBMA Board of Directors Takes a Retreat

OBMA Board of Directors takes a retreat

Earlier this month the Board of Directors of the OB MainStreet Association took an overnight retreat to the City of Imperial Beach.  In addition to meeting to brainstorm ideas for the association, twelve board members had an open discussion with Mayor Jim Janney about coastal community programs and issues.  The next day several members from the City of Imperial Beach hosted our group at their state of the art lifeguard facility, the Dempsey Holder Safety Center. We met with Hank Levien (Public Works Dept.), Captain Robert Stabenow (IB Lifeguards), Chief Tom Clark (Public Safety Director), Greg Wade (Community Development), Andy Hall (City Manager), Miles Ting (SD Sheriff).

In addition to all of the brainstorming, a lot of fun was had.  People bunked together at the new Pier South Hotel, and everyone enjoyed meals at local mom and pop cafes as well the new Cohn Restaurant Group's location in the Pier South Hotel, Sea 180 Degrees Coastal Tavern.

All in all, it was a productive, inspiring and relaxing time for the board members.
