HOW SDG&E IS GIVING BACK TO ITS COMMUNITIES
SDG&E has donated $1 million in shareholder funds to help launch the San Diego COVID-19
Community Response Fund (sdfoundation.org/covid19) to support local nonprofit groups that help the needy with food, rent and utility bill assistance.
At SDG&E’s recommendation, the Community Response Fund has provided funding to the following efforts:
- The San Diego Worker Assistance Initiative at the United Way of San Diego County to help individuals impacted by layoffs and reduced work with utilities, rent and mortgage payments.
- The Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank to provide food to San Diego Unified School District students who no longer have access to daily meals through school programs due to school closures, as well as to support food distribution by the AFL-CIO of San Diego and Imperial Counties.
- The Neighborhood House Association for food distribution to hard-to-reach San Diegans, including economically vulnerable children enrolled in Head Start early education programs, seniors and residents of mental health facilities.
