Clean Ups for Change New Year's CleanUp For Change on January 9th, 2016, 9 a.m. to noon - Meet at Pizza Port
Join CleanUps for Change in Ocean Beach, San Diego, for a community litter cleanup that focuses on the streets and sidewalks that lead to the ocean in addition to cleaning litter off the beach.
On Saturday, January 9, we will be at Pizza Port (1956 Bacon St) from 9 a.m. until noon. Volunteers will be asked to focus on a specific segment of Ocean Beach. You can get more info at www.cleanupsforchange.org.
As with all litter cleanups, we encourage participants to bring garden/work gloves in addition to wearing shoes, pants, and long sleeves. We will have plenty of extra gloves and supplies for volunteers.
The ocean is turning into a plastic sou,p and much of the plastic at sea starts as litter on land. Litter can be intentional or by accident, but either way, we need to find solutions to fight this urban blight that impacts marine life that people love. In addition to participating in community cleanups, it is critical to find solutions to prevent litter.
