Seeking Sponsors: help us build our recycled whale
Join us on July 5, 2024 for a World Design Capital endorsed event. DesBorder: Together for a Cleaner Environment is a cross-border, community cleanup, with a twist, located at Veterans Plaza in Ocean Beach.
- A whale sculpture, made from repurposed materials, will be used to collect cans and plastic bottles will be the heart of the first cleanup in OB.
- Our whale will migrate to neighboring coastal community cleanup events throughout the year.
- DesBorder will encourage our youth groups and schools to participate in art-making and educational activities promoting environmental awareness.
- All CRV collected in the whale will be donated to Cans4Books to provide free and accessible children’s books to San Diego communities.
