Event Schedule:
12:00-12:50 p.m. K-4th grade Skate Clinic: We'll teach you all the basic tricks & form. All equipment provided.*
1:00-1:50 p.m. K-4th grade Skate Competition: Enter to skate in the contest. Prizes for best ttick & highest ollie.*
2:00-2:50 p.m. Pro Skate Jam: Cheer on the pros as they show us their best tricks.
Silent auction and tons of great raffle prizes are up for grabs! Raffles every 30 minutes - bring your cash and purchase tickets early! Food will be available for sale at the event.
Kanten is Ocean Beach alum who also attended Correia and Point Loma High. He was also involved in Robb Field's Skate Park project and helped make the opening in 2000 a success! A long-time fixture in the professional skateboarding world, Kanten quickly became a leading figure in the region's skateboarding scene and was a professional skateboarder for 13 years. He attracted skateboard companies, which sponsored him on promotional tours all over the world and in competitions like the X Games. After retiring from skateboarding, he studied civil engineering and landscape architecture as he transitioned into park design.
All proceeds raised to benefit Ocean Beach Elementary.
* Signed release waiver by parent/guardian required for all contest and skate clinic participation. Waivers available at event. Lessons provided by experienced instructors.
